David Jones - Chatswood Chase

I bought shoes, they gave me 2 different shoes in the box. I didn't check until a few weeks later when I went to put them on. When I tried to get it sorted out over the phone, I was told I had to go to the store, this was inconvenient as I don't live close. I went to the to store and was told I needed a recipient even though I clearly had 2 different shoes. They still had paper inside, so were obviously new. After half an hour of waiting for customer support I was told they didn't have the shoes in my size. I left with a refund, having lost a lot of time. I just wanted the shoes I bought! I understand there are processes staff are asked to follow but where is the room for common sense?

Was ignored and then turned away by the staff member at the Dior counter when I asked for help. Was in desperate need of a foundation, and whilst the one I was interested in wasn’t in stock, I was willing to spend on her recommendation. The employee told me to try Sephora instead and walked away before I could even ask for an alternative. As I was leaving I overheard two staff members speaking rudely to other shoppers who wanted to try a top on a mannequin. The staff member aggressively said ‘Are you going to buy this, because it’s a real hassle to take this off the mannequin’. I understand there’s rules about removing clothes from mannequins, but this could have been communicated more politely. My husband after witnessing both situations said to me ‘it’s like they don’t want to take our money’. Will be sticking to your Bondi store instead as I find the service so much more helpful.

Eliza from Dermatologica helped me at the MAC counter and was exceptional. It was not her department but she was really helpful and had great customer service. I think she deserves praise from DJs. She is an exceptional worker! Thanks again Eliza

11/05/24 Chatswood Chase is under major renovation and development with 700 car spaces currently not available making access very difficult to the centre the internal renovations have removed two levels from the store and they have condensed all of their products to one level meaning that they have a very limited range. In particular I went shopping for men's clothing and was disappointed with the lack of range and sizing.

I'm giving this 5 star review purely to Priya from the women section. I always go to Chatswood Chase David Jones only because she works there. She is very patient and always smiling and helpful. Her customer service and hospitality skills are great.
